The sensors measure the tiny electrical impulse that is sent from the brain to the muscle and activates it. The stronger the impulse, the more intense the muscle activation.
The measurement is made with the use of sensors over the surface of the body. This method is called surface electromyography (sEMG) in professional jargon.
You place the sensors either with an elastic band or with adhesive electrodes directly on the muscle. If you press a fist hard, for example, you can easily see on the forearm which muscle is activated and where the sensor should be placed.
With the app you can easily check if a sensor is positioned correctly. When you buy a sensor, you will also receive videos that show you how to apply it to different muscles. Adhesive electrodes are available in stores and are intended for one-time use only. Our metal electrodes are reusable.
A sensor can be attached to any large muscle that can be felt on the surface of the body. Preferably you use the large muscles of the extremities. We have some explanatory videos on this.
The app works on Apple iPads. Other Apple devices (e.g. iPhone) and other operating systems are in preparation.
Basically, the closer the iPad is to the sensors, the better and more reliable the reception. The app therefore uses the wide-angle camera, which allows a minimum distance of approx. 1.5 m from the golfer and thus guarantees good reception. Reception is generally better in tee boxes with walls and roofs than in the open field, as this reflects the Bluetooth waves.
We have carried out hundreds of tests before the market launch. In the course of these tests with dozens of very different players under the guidance of an experienced golf pro, we found out some patterns of muscle activation which clearly document the errors but also the corrections.
We make this knowledge available to movesmart.golf customers in the form of videos and support. In this way, a quick and correct interpretation of the measurements and the determination of improvement measures is efficiently possible.
Our tests quickly showed that the use of movesmart.golf is suitable for all categories of players. You benefit as a player at every level and can often achieve quick success.
It is worthwhile to analyse your swing patterns with a golf pro and determine the potential for improvement. Then you can practice on your own with movesmart.golf.
Yes. Especially in this area, insights into one's own faulty swing patterns are helpful in order not to fall back into the old faulty patterns in situations under pressure.
Our test series have shown that under pressure, in tournament conditions, or when fatigued, we often fall back into the old, wrong movement patterns.
movesmart.golf makes the mistakes in every situation immediately visible and thus enables us to consciously concentrate on the improvements we have learned during practice.
